150m2 apartment in the Les Corts neighborhood
We’ve wrapped up 2013. It’s been an intense year, full of new projects, and we’re ending it with the satisfaction of a job well done. We want to share with you one of our latest projects, delivered in November, which we’re very proud of. From the initial design to the smallest finishing detail, everything was done exclusively by the OAK team. We hope you like it.
The main objective of the renovation was to create well-defined zoning and circulation patterns. The aim was to reorganize and streamline the spaces, making each room a comfortable and welcoming space for family living, but above all, ensuring that aesthetics and function always went hand in hand.
The first phase of the project involved a detailed study of each room, every real need, every custom and way of life and movement … Dimensioning and defining each space, capturing every desired whim, creating different environments through lighting… in short, understanding what the owner had in mind in order to shape it and make their dream a reality.
The project is planned with an integrated living room, dining room and kitchen (with the possibility of making the kitchen independent through large hidden sliding doors), 3 bedrooms, one of them a suite with bathroom and dressing room, an office and two independent bathrooms.
The aim was to maximize the existing qualities of the house . Large, two-tone aluminum exterior windows (gray inside and white outside to match the facade’s aesthetic) with laminated and acoustic glass were installed to enhance the light and views while simultaneously minimizing noise. The false ceiling was lowered in specific areas to avoid losing height and visually reducing the space.
In the air-conditioned areas where a false ceiling was installed for technical reasons (due to the passage of both electrical and air conditioning installations), it was finished in the form of a cantilever and highlighted with direct LED lighting.
Regarding the aesthetics and finishes, the design opted for a very neutral base color using high-quality materials, allowing for the subsequent addition of color with more ephemeral and changeable elements such as furniture, textiles, artwork, and decorative accessories. Natural oak parquet flooring, treated with oil and finished with a whitewashed effect to enhance brightness, was installed throughout the apartment. White lacquered doors were also installed. In the bathrooms, microcement in various colors was applied to the shower interiors. The kitchen cabinetry is from Dica’s Milano 45 series, featuring handleless doors in matte white lacquer and perimeter LED lighting around the baseboards. The existing fireplace was clad with iron sheets painted with black heat-resistant paint.
In short, a successful project in which the client’s expectations regarding quality, finishes and execution time have been fully met.
