Comprehensive renovation project in Badalona
Today at OAK we’re showcasing a complete apartment renovation project in the heart of Badalona, right next to Barcelona. This project, designed by interior designer Clara Valls , was undertaken with great enthusiasm by the owners. They are a married couple who had dreamed of renovating their apartment for years, and once their children had moved out, they decided it was time to create a home tailored just for the two of them. The apartment’s previous state was as follows:
The new proposal does not include any changes to the layout itself, but it does include changes in the use of the children’s rooms and the demolition of two small partitions to widen the passageways and create a feeling of spaciousness.
After waiting so long for this moment, the owners have clearly opted for high-quality features and a range of finishes, both in terms of aesthetics and functionality and durability. The plans include a well-deserved master suite with a bathroom and dressing room, an office as a workspace, a multipurpose room for cleaning and other uses, a guest bathroom, and a kitchen furnished with Dica cabinetry. A guest bedroom and a spacious dining room are also included.
One of the main problems with the apartment was thermal bridging. Being a penthouse with a roof terrace directly above, the floor slab quickly absorbed the outside temperature, transmitting it to the interior. Therefore, it was decided to lower the ceilings and insulate them with rock wool, which also allowed for recessed lighting.
As distinctive finishes, we highlight the choice of wallpaper and glue in gray tones in the hallway and entrance area, and upholstered wood panels on the headboard wall of the suite.
Much of the furniture is custom-made to the interior designer’s specifications, who also selects some of the finishing touches. The dressing room, with its six storage modules, natural light, and open central area, exemplifies the realization of the owners’ long-held dream apartment.
Below are images of the results of the comprehensive renovation project , which have certainly impressed the owners:
We want to remind you that for the OAK team, the greatest reward is helping you fulfill your dreams. We’d be delighted to contribute all our enthusiasm and experience to making your dream apartment a reality!
