The next comprehensive renovation in Barcelona, ​​”SThis project involves the transformation of an old water tank located on the roof of an apartment building into a small apartment where the entire functional program is integrated and folded away within the perimeter of the space. Furniture elements fold, open, and close to accommodate the user’s needs: a bed that folds away, a table that opens and closes, a kitchen hidden behind movable and folding panels, and a bathroom that conceals and integrates behind a wooden partition. The initial budget for the complete renovation was minimal, requiring an intervention with very basic materials and without excessive embellishment. Therefore, the interior renovation project utilizes traditional materials: red ceramic tiles and pine wood. The same ceramic tile flooring extends from the interior to the exterior, ensuring a continuity of materials between inside and out. “

This is the home renovation project designed by architect Lola Domènech. At OAK2000, a construction company in Barcelona, ​​we want to highlight the ingenuity of this comprehensive renovation in a small space, and the successful choice of understated yet clever materials to enhance its brightness and sense of spaciousness.
