How much does it cost to renovate a kitchen in Barcelona?
Renovating a kitchen is one of the most important (and exciting) investments when refurbishing a home. But before imagining the new design, the finishes, or the perfect layout, the big question arises: how much does it cost to renovate a kitchen in Barcelona?
In this article we help you understand the factors that influence the price, the approximate ranges, and why good planning is key to avoiding surprises.
Average price of a kitchen renovation in Barcelona
The price of renovating a kitchen in Barcelona can vary considerably depending on the size, type of renovation, and the quality of the materials chosen. To give you an idea:
- Basic renovation : between €4,000 and €7,000
- Average or standard renovation : between €8,000 and €13,000
- Premium complete kitchen renovation : from €15,000
These prices include work such as demolition, tiling, electrical and plumbing installation, furniture, countertops, appliances, and painting. The final estimate will depend on several factors, which we explain below.
Factors that influence the price of a kitchen renovation
1. Kitchen surface
A small kitchen of 5-6 m² will not require the same investment as one of 12-15 m². Size directly influences the amount of materials, labor, and time needed.
2. Type of reform
- Partial : renovate only the furniture, change the countertop or update the coverings.
- Complete : includes change of layout, installations, floors, walls, complete furniture and appliances.
The more extensive the renovation, the greater the cost, but also the impact on the functionality and value of the home.
3. Changes in distribution
Moving water outlets, electrical sockets, or removing partition walls involves modifying the plumbing and electrical systems, and therefore increases the budget. It’s not always necessary, but it can greatly improve the space.
4. Quality of materials
The cost varies greatly depending on whether standard, mid-range or high-end materials are chosen (natural woods, porcelain countertops, integrated appliances, designer faucets, etc.).
5. Design and furniture
The type of furniture (custom-made or modular), the finishes (lacquered, laminated, matte or glossy), the opening systems or the interior accessories (pantries, organizing drawers…) also affect the budget.
6. Professional workforce
Working with a company specializing in complete renovations in Barcelona, like OAK, guarantees quality, on-time delivery, and expert advice. It may not be the cheapest option, but it is the safest.
