However, the primary objective of the construction company is to showcase the widest possible range of products and solutions to its future clients.

The objective in the Oak Showroom project has therefore been to showcase all these materials, and more importantly, to create an environment that allows future clients to understand not so much what the materials for the renovation of their apartment or their future home could be like, but what kind of atmosphere they could achieve.

The showroom space is divided into areas of interest to the construction company: kitchens, bathrooms, floors, etc. But the space has been unified by an enclosure of wooden slats and a longitudinal wardrobe that unifies the perimeter and helps with storage, so that the feeling is that of being in a real home, with its kitchen, its bathroom, its living room and an office space.

The premises where the project is located are divided into two spaces separated by the volume of vertical communications of the property.

We do not maintain this logic of division into two in the renovation, but instead we try to expand the first space towards the back of the premises by extending the floor, ceiling and side wall that accompanies the entire space.

In this way we achieve that in the same environment, defined by the same materials, we explain the options that can be given in relation to kitchens and bathrooms (the main sector of the construction company), but also in domestic and office spaces, integrating the company’s offices into the exhibition space, thus expanding the references and the possible range of business.

The deepest part of the premises is completely darkened in black, so that through careful lighting and cubes that frame the different materials, solutions can be displayed that serve as a basis for understanding different types of renovation.

You can read the full article on Anna and Eugeni Bach’s blog

Image by OAK Showroom – Image by AEB

Designing a showroom for a construction company presents the main challenge of ensuring that the resulting space is not merely a display of unrelated materials.
