Special emphasis was placed on preserving the invaluable elements of the existing <strong>Modernist architecture<\/strong> . Therefore, highly technical <strong>restoration<\/strong> work was carried out to conserve the original hydraulic mosaic floors, wooden joinery, and molded ceilings.<br\/> A hydraulic mosaic is a decorative tile made of pigmented cement, suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. Over time, it deteriorates, and its visible surface loses shine, color, and texture; broken and chipped pieces can even be found. In this case, the base of the floor was level and in good condition, so the restoration work could be carried out on-site without dismantling the floor piece by piece. The client particularly valued the concept of imperfection in this type of element, being able to appreciate the passage of time and the fact that, for example, the pieces or grout lines were not absolutely identical.    <br\/><a href=\"https:\/\/oak2000.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/11.png\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-311\" src=\"https:\/\/oak2000.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/11.png\" alt=\"complete apartment renovation Barcelona\" width=\"691\" height=\"480\" title=\"\"><\/a><br\/> <br\/>The ceilings are repaired, preserving the original cornices as unique features.
